OPENING FACEOFF
The St. Bonaventure men's lacrosse team travels to Waldron Family Stadium on Tuesday to face Mount St. Mary's. The Bonnies enter at 0-2 after a setback vs. Bucknell this past weekend, while the Mountaineers sit at an even 1-1 after dropping their last home matchup against Long Island. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs. Tuesday's game time has been moved up to a noon start due to inclement weather in the forecast.
SUCCESS FROM THE X
Freshman Lad Harper has won 24 faceoffs this season, 13 of those coming against Bucknell when he also scooped up eight groundballs. Against the Bison, he also scored his first career goal, winning at the dot and sprinting down the field nearly untouched before ripping a shot for an unassisted score.
SPREADING THE WEALTH
The Bonnies have tallied 14 different point-scorers through the first two games. Sophomore Jake Kucinski and senior Kyle Pepper have each scored goals in both matchups.
HIGHLIGHT MOMENTS
Against Bucknell, senior midfielder Drew Kenney buried a shot as time expired on the first half while the Bonnies were down a man, making for a highlight buzzer beater and just the third man-down goal in program history. Later, in the third quarter, sophomore midfielder Blayze Becker launched a rocket from Bona's defensive half that found the back of the net for a nearly full-field score.
BETWEEN THE POSTS
Freshman goalie Isaac Farmer made his first collegiate start in cage for the Brown and White facing Bucknell, making 14 saves. He also made four saves in an appearance against VMI.
