OPENING FACEOFFÂ
The St. Bonaventure men's lacrosse team travels to Joe Walton Stadium on Tuesday to face Robert Morris. Tuesday's game was moved up to a 2 p.m. start time due to cold temperatures in the forecast.The Bonnies hold a 1-2 record coming off a thrilling overtime victory at Mount St. Mary's. The team's home matchup with Binghamton was postponed from February 15 to March 25 due to weather. The Colonials dropped their first two games at Richmond and High Point and will look to bounce back and defend home turf. They hold the series lead after beating the Bonnies in each of the past two seasons.Â
HOT FROM THE DOTÂ
Freshman Lad Harper has carved out a significant role at the faceoff X, winning 38 faceoffs through three contests. He ranks 29th nationally in faceoff win percentage (.585) and 18th in groundballs (21).Â
TAKING ADVANTAGEÂ
The Bonnies boast the 25th ranked man-up offense in the country, scoring goals on 43 percent of power plays.Â
IN THE RECORD BOOKSÂ
The Bonnies were successful when the ball hit the turf against The Mount, scooping 48 groundballs and setting a new single-game program record. The previous program record of 43 had stood since 2022.Â
ABOUT ROBERT MORRISÂ
- The Colonials are coached by Craig McDonald in his fourth season with the program. He led the squad to the 2022 ASUN conference title and an NCAA Tournament appearance. Last year, he led the team to a 5-10 record (4-5 ASUN).Â
- RMU makes its return to the NEC this year after a four-year hiatus. They spent 2021 as an independent and were members of the ASUN in recent seasons.Â
- Junior attacker Calum Brennan paces the team with four goals on the year and has been efficient, scoring on every shot he has put on frame.Â
- Graduate student Bo Columbus has scooped 14 groundballs through just two contests and leads the team.Â
- The Colonials reach into their depth on an active defense, as Nathan Ruff, Owen Tapper, Ethan Hecht, Brian Simmons, and Matt King have all caused two turnovers early in the campaign.Â
TRENDING NUMBERSÂ
4 – SBU's victory over The Mount was the fourth overtime game in program history and evened the program's record in overtime contests to 2-2.Â
6 – Lad Harper's selection for A-10 Rookie of the Week is the sixth in program history, the last being Jake Kucinski's selection on March 18 last season. Bona has also scored on six man-up opportunities this year.Â
15 – The Bonnies have seen 15 different players score points this season, six of them being multiple goal scorers.Â
