Welcome to "Behind The Bonnies," a new GoBonnies.com series where we get to know the student-athletes at St. Bonaventure University. In this edition, we meet Bonnies senior Halle Myers.

Halle Myers earned Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week honors in October this fall as part of what has been a standout season in the pool.

During her junior season, Myers earned a bronze medal in the 50-freestyle with a time of 22.82 at the Atlantic 10 Championships. She also placed sixth in the 100-butterfly with a time of 54.32 in the same championships. Myers helped the 400-relay to a program record time of 3:20.83. She also earned honors to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll. Myers also earned a spot on the 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.

As a sophomore, Myers helped set the 200-freestyle program record with a time at 1:32.81 at A-10 Championships. She won the consolation final with a time of 23.18 in the 50-freestyle in the same championships. She also earned honors to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll.

In her freshman season, Myers swam in the 200-medley relay that placed fifth at the Atlantic 10 championships with a time of 1:42.15, which is third-place in school history. Myers won the 50-freestyle with a time of 24.78 against St. Francis (Pa.).

In high school, Myers won D10 Swimmer of the Year. She was a 10-time District 10 Champion and a five-time PIAA State Champion. 

Halle Myers is a native of Erie, Pa.

 

What is your favorite memory playing your sport? Probably A-10 [championships] my junior year 

What is your favorite hobby to do outside of playing your sport? Tennis or Sailing 

Where is your dream vacation spot? British Virgin Islands

What is the best part about being a part of your Bonnies team? The teammates

What is your favorite sports team and who is your favorite athlete? Penn State Football, Saquon Barkley

You can bring any four people to dinner, who are you inviting? Maggie Holst, Caitlyn Clements, Ellie Kraus, McKenna Shearing (my senior class)

If you could live inside one TV show/movie what would it be? Harry Potter

If you weren't playing your sport, what other sport would you most like to play? Tennis

Why did you choose St. Bonaventure? Swim team, community, alumni, and everything Bonaventure stands for 

What is your favorite social media app and why? Instagram, because of reels 

What is something you think most people don't know about your sport? It's hard

Who is your favorite professor on campus? Gallagher

What is your favorite class at SBU and why? Shakespeare, I loved Dr. Ellis
