ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University baseball team dropped the first game of their home-opening series against George Mason, 21-2, Friday afternoon.
The Patriots jumped out to an early lead after a two-run home run in the top of the first.
Bonaventure responded in second, bringing their first run of the game home on an RBI single by Paul Vossen.
Mason responded in the top of the fourth.
A string of 11 hits allowed 10 runs to cross the plate. The Patriots added to their lead with a two-run home run in the fifth, extending their lead to 14-1.
Morgan Little posted two hits for the Bonnies.
The two teams get together again Saturday at 2 p.m.
