GENEVA, N.Y. – Homestanding Hobart put on an electrifying offensive performance to down the St. Bonaventure men's lacrosse team, 26-13, Saturday afternoon at Urick Stadium.
The Bonnies had two standout performances from Kellen Pulera and Jake Kucinski.
Pulera delivered five goals along with two assists for seven points while Kucinski scored four goals along with three assists for seven points as well.
The two Bonnies tie for third in program history for single-game points with the most by a Bonaventure player since Sean Westley set the school record of nine points Feb. 25, 2023 vs. VMI.
Pulera's five goals were also one off the school record shared by three different players and last achieved by Kucinski last February at Binghamton.
The teams were tied, 4-4, after the first quarter, but a dominating second stanza from Hobart broke the game open as the hosts owned a 10-2 margin in the quarter.
Patrick Shanahan recorded two goals as well for the Bonnies.
Alex Rosa paced Hobart with seven points with David Peterkin and John Jude Considine registering six apiece.
QUOTES FROM HEAD COACH RANDY MEARNS
"I felt like we played a strong first quarter against a quality team. Miscues in the clearing game and struggling at the faceoff X led to a really tough second quarter and put us into a significant hole."
"I'm proud of the effort and no-quit attitude. We are young and we'll continue to persevere and get better from these difficult challenges. We'll build toward Senior Day next weekend."
