Bonnies Conclude Season With Senior Celebration at Joyce Field

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University softball fell to Saint Joseph's in a pair of Atlantic 10 contests Sunday at Joyce Field.

The Hawks and Bonnies resumed game two from Saturday's doubleheader with Saint Joseph's coming out on top 12-2 before winning the series finale, 14-4.

In between games Sunday, the Bonnies honored graduating student-athletes Emily McKenna, Courtnee Peterson and Victoria Jacques.

GAME 1 – Saint Joseph's 12, St. Bonaventure 2
The Hawks jumped ahead in the top of the second, scoring the game's opening run on an RBI double.

Saint Joseph's tacked on three more runs in the top of the third on a two-run triple and an RBI single.

Play was suspended in the top of the fourth inning Saturday afternoon due to inclement weather.

The Hawks made it a 5-0 game in the top of the fourth with a bases loaded walk before pushing the lead to eight runs in the fifth on a double and fielder's choice.

The Bonnies pulled two back in the bottom half of the fifth when Karena Recrosio laid down a bunt that forced a throwing error from the Hawks, allowing her and Sydney DeGram to come around to score.

The Hawks, however, took a 10-run lead in the seventh with a triple and a wild pitch, capturing the victory.

GAME 2 – Saint Joseph's 14, St. Bonaventure 4 (F/5)
The Hawks struck first in game two of the day, scoring on a fielder's choice and a sacrifice fly in the top of the first.

The Bonnies pulled one back in the bottom of the first with a sacrifice fly off the bat of Eleanor Park.

Saint Joseph's extended its lead to 3-1 on an error in the second before taking a four-run advantage via a double and a triple in the third.

Bona's answered with three runs in the bottom of the third, pulling within one, 5-4.

Stull brought in the first run of the innings with a single through the left side. Park followed her with a two-run single up the middle.

The Hawks, however, responded with a six-run top of the fourth and added three more runs in the fifth, capturing the series win.

QUOTES FROM HEAD COACH MIKE THREEHOUSE
"The last day of the season is always emotional. I want to thank the senior class for their effort over the years. They left the program in better shape than they found it. We have a lot to build on."
