ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Allen's Wine and Liquor now offers two St. Bonaventure wines, a Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, at its Olean location.
Sourced from grapes located on California's Central Coast, the vinification of both wines takes place at the Millbrook Winery located in Long Island.
The Bonaventure Chardonnay is bright and floral on the nose with a touch of ripe peaches and pear. The wine is fresh with good richness and flavors of exotic fruit on the palate.
The Cabernet Sauvignon is rich and full bodied with soft, supple tannins and ripe dark fruit flavors of blackberry and black currant layered with notes of toasty oak and cocoa.
"This is such an exciting time to be a Bonnie. While the University continues to establish enrollment records, we continue to search for ways to extend our brand locally and regionally," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Bob Beretta.
"We're thrilled to collaborate with our local partners to spread the Bonnie brand. Adding a St. Bonaventure-branded wine further strengthens our position in the consumables category. This new initiative builds on our inventory of Bona-branded products, which already includes two Bonnie-branded beers and a specialty coffee blend."
The St. Bonaventure wines are currently only available in-store and are not available for online purchase. Allen's Wine and Liquor is located at 1411 West State St. in Olean.
"As a Class of 2003 grad and proud Bona alum, I was ecstatic to work with the University on this project and feature it at Allen's!!" said Vic Vena, owner Allen's Wine and Liquor.
The two Bonaventure wines are the latest St. Bonaventure branded items to hit the consumables market in the last 18 months joining Ellicottville Brewing Company, Rohrbach Brewing Company, and RocketCup Coffee.
