Men's Soccer Welcomes Fordham Saturday on Senior Day

The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team returns home for another conference matchup, this time against the Fordham Rams on Saturday, Oct. 3. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. at the Marra Athletics Field Complex.

Prior to Saturday's contest the Bonnies will honor 11 graduating student-athletes as part of Senior Day. Luc Finelli, Callum Shillington, Daniel Helle, Alex Ohmart, Christopher Mularadelis, Kyle Macfarlane, Jack Steel, Harvey Skurek, Josh Seyer, Darien Martin and Jackson Minneci will all be honored.

LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies dropped their first conference road game of the year last weekend, suffering a 1-0 loss to Davidson.

The Wildcats posted the only goal of the game in the 33rd minute to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.

The Bonnies attempted a second half rally but suffered a red card in the 69th minute that limited their chances.

KEEPING THEM IN IT
Junior goalie Winston Jory has been a brick wall in his first season as a Bonnie. Playing every minute of eight games this season for St. Bonaventure, Jory has recorded 30 saves and holds a .811 save percentage, the third best among A10 goalies this year. 

SENIOR DAY
Jackson Minneci joined the Bonnies men's soccer program this past spring and has appeared in nine games, making two starts for the Brown and White this season. He is working toward his degree in management.

Harvey Skurek joined the Bonnies men's soccer team this past spring and has appeared in seven games while making five starts this season on defense. For his career, Skurek has appeared in 48 games and made 42 starts. He is working toward his degree in finance.

Josh Seyer joined the Bonnies men's soccer program this past spring and has started all nine games this season for the Bonnies. Seyer registered an assist in the season opening victory over Niagara. He is working toward an MBA in general business.

Jack Steel joined the men's soccer program this past spring and has started all eight games he's been available for this season. Steel netted the game-winning goal in the season opener at Niagara. He has appeared in 34 games for his career, registering four goals and an assist. He is working toward a degree in management.

Kyle Macfarlane is a two-year member of the men's soccer team and has started all 24 games he has been available for. For his Bonnies career, Macfarlane has netted six goals and three assists, including two goals and an assist this season. He is working toward his degree in sports studies.

Christopher Mularadelis is a three-year member of the men's soccer program, appearing in one contest. He is a two-time Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll honoree and is working toward his degree in finance.

Alex Ohmart is a four-year member of the men's soccer program and appeared in two games in net as a junior last season. He is a three-time Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll honoree and is working toward his degree in psychology.

Luc Finelli is a four-year member of the men's soccer program. Finelli has appeared in 34 games, making 20 starts. He has logged a pair of goals, including one game-winning goal. He is working toward his degree in marketing.

Daniel is a four-year member of the men's soccer team. He has appeared in 50 games, making 15 starts for the Brown and White. Helle has registered five goals and three assists for his career, including three goals and a helper as a freshman. He is working toward his degree in marketing.

Callum Shillington is a four-year member of the men's soccer team. He has appeared in 48 games, making 39 starts during his career. He has recorded one goal and five assists during his time with the Brown and White, including a goal and two assists last season. He is working toward his degree in health science.

FORDHAM NOTES

  • Fordham enters the weekend 4-4-1 overall and are 2-0-0 in Atlantic 10 play. The Rams started conference play off with back-to-back wins over Loyola Chicago and VCU. They have also scored non-conference wins over Bucknell and Lafayette. The Rams were picked to finish fourth in the Atlantic 10 preseason coaches poll.
  • Leading the offensive charge for Fordham is Bruno Cellerino. The sophomore midfielder leads the team with three goals and ranks second on the team in shots (15). In goal, Fordham has started Shayon Kashi in eight of their nine games. The senior has accumulated a 3-4 record and has a .793 save percentage.

SERIES HISTORY
The Bonnies and Rams are set to meet for the 25th time Saturday evening. Fordham leads the all-time series 16-5-3 over the Bonnies.

Bona's is 1-8-1 against Fordham in the last ten meetings with the most recent matchup ending in a 0-5 loss last season in the Bronx.
