HAMPTON, Va. - Dhavgely Mendoza headlined a historic week for the St. Bonaventure women's swim and dive team at the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championships, earning gold in both her events while helping propel one of the program's strongest showings in recent history. In the pool, junior Anna Bojana Forjan's three-medal performance and multiple program bests also takes a spot in the Bona record book.
For the second time this week, Mendoza was crowned an Atlantic 10 champion as she claimed gold in the 1-meter dive event with a score of 303.10. She previously won the 3-meter dive on Thursday. Mendoza's historic performance earned her the Championship's Most Outstanding Diver award.
She becomes only the third diver in Bonaventure history to win the award, joining SBU Hall of Famer Barbara Vassallo who earned the distinction in 1993 and Maureen Theis in 2004. Her award will pair nicely with coach Alejandra Fuentes who was named the Women's Diving Coach of the Year, becoming the first for the Bonnies since Allison Manion in 2004.
Bojana Forjan's three medals - gold in the 100 backstroke and 200 freestyle, silver in the 200 backstroke - are the most by an individual Bonnie since Lina Kutsko's three golds in 2018. Her performances in the 200 backstroke, 200 freestyle, 100 backstroke and 800 freestyle relay bring her to a total of five program bests in her Bonaventure career.
The Bonaventure women finished sixth in the team standings at the close of the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championships, scoring 358 points as a unit. Richmond held their Day 1 lead to the end, finishing first with 600 points, followed by George Washington with 572.5 and Duquesne with 516.5. The Bonnies improved by three spots over last year's championships.
Across all days of competition, the Bonnies women claimed four gold, one silver and one bronze medal with four program records.
