ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Sophomore diver Dhavgely Mendoza's standout performance highlighted the St. Bonaventure men's and women's swimming and diving teams' competition at the NCAA Diving Zone A Championships, held this past Monday through Wednesday and hosted by Navy.

Mendoza posted the highest finish for a Bonnies women's diver in nearly two decades as she placed 15th in the 1-meter event by totaling 511.45 points. As the reigning Atlantic 10 Women's Diver of the Year after sweeping the gold medals at this year's conference championships with titles on both boards, Mendoza competed alongside junior Lia Doskoris from the Bona women's team.

The women's duo was joined by men's senior Ben O'Neill, who captured silver in the 1-meter dive at the A-10 Championships, as well as freshman Brady Huettl.

In 3-meter qualifying on Tuesday, Mendoza totaled 537.25 points in the event following finals to take 14th place. She improved upon a 57th-place finish from the 3-meter board last year and 52nd in the 1-meter a year ago.

Doskoris scored 217.80 points from the 1-meter board for 52nd place in the prelims. She also placed 54th in the 3-meter prelims, scoring 213.20 points.

On the men's side, O'Neill scored 280.10 points for 29th place in the 3-meter prelims. In the 1-meter prelims, he scored 278.60 points for 26th place and was followed by Huetll in 46th place with 215.90 points.
