ST. BONAVENTURE (2-2) vs. LE MOYNE (0-4)
Saturday, Feb. 28 – 11:00 a.m.
Marra Athletics Complex
TV: Bonnies Online Network

OPENING FACEOFF
The St. Bonaventure men's lacrosse team will return home to the Marra Athletics Complex to battle Le Moyne on Saturday morning in a non-conference matchup. The Bonnies are coming off a 14-12 road loss to Bellarmine on Tuesday, while Le Moyne is seeking its first win of the year. Saturday's game will stream live for free through the Bonnies Online Network.

TWO OF A KIND
Junior Jaxon Dillon and redshirt sophomore John Boomer both recorded their first career hat trick in Tuesday's game at Bellarmine. Dillon's three goals were his first three of the season, while Boomer now has six goals on the year, already a new career high.

ICE COLE
Sophomore Cole Kucinski has been red-hot to start the Bonnies' season. Through four games this year, Kucinski has 12 points (10G-2A), which is five more than the next closest Bonnie. For his early season performance, Kucinski was named to the USILA National Team of the Week on Feb. 18 after posting a career-high five goals in a victory at Binghamton.

OFFENSE TRENDING UP
St. Bonaventure scored double digit goals for their third straight game in Tuesday's contest at Bellarmine. The last time the Bonnies scored double digit goals in three straight games was March 5-13, 2023. The Bonnies have now put up more games with 10+ goals this season (3) than they did all of last season (2).

New Bonnies head coach Brendan Storrier directed electric offenses while at Limestone as his Saints squad ranked third nationally in the D-II ranks in scoring last year at almost 18 goals per contest after leading the country with 18.3 goals per game in 2024.

IMMEDIATE IMPACT
Freshman Miles Tropea and freshman Jonas Johnson have started off their collegiate careers with a bang. Tropea was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week last week after scoring two goals in a home win over Robert Morris. Johnson has been a welcome addition to the Bonnies offense, scoring a goal and adding two assists against Bellarmine on Tuesday and has tallied a point in three straight games.

SERIES HISTORY
Le Moyne leads, 1-0

Saturday marks the second matchup between the two programs and the first time that the Bonnies have played host to the Dolphins.

In the first matchup between the two programs last year, Le Moyne held on for a 10-9 victory in Syracuse. After being down three goals with under four minutes remaining, the Bonnies rallied to cut the deficit to one but fell short of completing the comeback.

In last year's game, Patrick Shanahan recorded a goal and two groundballs and John Boomer picked up two goals. Isaac Farmer recorded seven saves between the pipes.

ABOUT LE MOYNE
  • The Dolphins have opened the season at 0-4 and are coming off an 8-7 heartbreaker at Canisius this past Tuesday. The Golden Griffs scored with just 52 seconds remaining to defeat Le Moyne. The Dolphins opened the season with a home loss to Queens (13-3) before starting what is now a four-game road swing at Jacksonville (20-2), Holy Cross (12-5), Canisius and now SBU.
  • Le Moyne is playing its third season at the Division I level, going 9-6 last year with a 6-1 mark in NEC play. The Dolphins, long a Division II power, shared the NEC regular season title and earned the top seed in the conference tourney before being upset in the first round by Detroit Mercy.
  • Le Moyne returns 35 players from last year including All-NEC picks in junior goalie Lucas Winger, the NEC Defensive Player of the Year, graduate faceoff specialist Sam Getty and sophomore midfielder Emmet McDermott.
  • The Le Moyne offense has struggled this far, averaging just over four goals per game. No Dolphins player has more than five points thus far on the season.
