ERIE, Pa. – Saint Louis grabbed an early lead and never let go of control Saturday to secure a 6-3 win over the St. Bonaventure baseball team at Mercyhurst Baseball Field.

Anthony Fernandez recorded a four-hit day at the plate for the Bonnies.

Saint Louis surged ahead early, plating a run in the first and then added three more in the second to take control. In the fourth, the Billikens made their lead six when Riley Iffrig doubled to left-center to bring home two more runs.

St. Bonaventure started to chip away in the fifth thanks to a couple of extra base hits.

Joey Calabretti drilled a no-doubt, two-run homer to left to get the Bonnies on the board. Later in the inning, Conner Vercollone doubled to plate another as Bona's cut their deficit in half.

In the seventh, the Bonnies loaded the bases with the middle of the order up, but a strikeout ended the threat.

Nolan Feidt struck out eight over 6.1 innings while Derek Duval recorded 2.2 scoreless frames of relief.
