ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women's basketball team and head coach Jim Crowley has announced the addition of Kyla Hayes to the 2026-27 roster.

Hayes is a 6-foot forward, hailing from Buffalo, N.Y. and spent her freshman season at St. John's where she appeared in 10 games during the 2025-26 season.

"Kyla is someone that we have known for a long time and are thrilled that she is joining us," Crowley said. "She is a skilled, versatile player with a very high basketball IQ. Her ability to score the ball in multiple ways and her competitive drive will have a positive impact on our program."

Prior to St. John's, Hayes was standout player for Cardinal O'Hara, finishing her career ranked third all-time on the Western New York scoring list with over 2,600 career points. She averaged 21.9 points, 10.7 rebounds, 3.3 steals, 2.2 assists and 1.0 blocks for game for her career. Hayes helped Cardinal O'Hara to three Monsignor Martin High School Athletic Association titles during her varsity tenure. She is a three-time All-State selection and a four-time All-Western New York selection.

As a senior in 2024-25, Hayes averaged 28.8 points, 11.8 rebounds, 4.7 steals, 3.1 assists and 1.3 blocks per game en route to earning Western New York Player of the Year as well as NYSSWA Class AAA First Team honors.

Hayes logged 20.0 points, 10.9 rebounds, 3.5 steals, 2.6 assists and 1.1 blocks across 27 games as a junior in 2023-24. She registered 15 20-point games, two 30-points outings and scored in double figures in all 27 contests. Following the season, Hayes garnered NYSSWA Class AAA Second Team accolades.

She is the fifth addition to the 2026-27 roster for Bonnies head coach Jim Crowley, joining Ella Trinkaus (Marcy, N.Y.), Lola Gralton (Sydney, Australia), Kay Donahue (Belle Mead, N.J.) and Jordyn Williams (Buffalo, N.Y.).
