The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team remains at home to host Cleveland State Tuesday, Sept. 22. Kickoff is slated for 6:00 p.m. at the Marra Athletics Complex.

LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies scored a 2-1 victory over VCU last Saturday in the Atlantic 10 opener at the Marra Athletics Complex, marking the Brown and White's first win over the Rams since 2017.

VCU took an early lead in the 10^th minute before Ryan Holt leveled the game with his first goal of the season in the 18^th minute.

Just 12 minutes later, Holt struck again for his second goal of the game and the eventual game-winning goal.

Brendan Sheehan was credited with assists on both Bonnies goals Saturday.

Holt finished the game with a team-high five shots while Winston Jory made four saves in net for the Bonnies.

SHEEHAN SHINING
Sophomore Brendan Sheehan went the first 16 games of his St. Bonaventure career without logging a point. Over the span of the last three games, Sheehan has registered eight points on three goals and two assists, helping the Bonnies to a 2-0-1 record during that span.

Sheehan currently ranks fifth in the Atlantic 10 in goals and is sixth in points.

BETWEEN THE PIPES
Through seven games, Winston Jory currently ranks second in the Atlantic 10 and 22^nd in the NCAA with three shutouts.

He also sits fourth in the conference in goals against average (.857), fourth in save percentage (.80) and fifth in saves (24).

CLEVELAND STATE NOTES

• Cleveland State enters the week 2-3-2 overall and are 1-1-1 in Horizon League play while coming off of back-to-back results against Detroit Mercy (W, 2-0) and Green Bay (T, 1-1). The Vikings have also scored results against Canisius (W, 3-0) and then No. 19 FAU (T, 0-0).
• The Vikings finished 2025 with a 9-4-6 record overall and were 5-1-3 in the Horizon League, winning the conference championship, 1-0, in double overtime over Purdue Fort Wayne. CSU fell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Marshall, 1-0. This season, the Vikings were picked to finish first in the Horizon League preseason poll.
• Domenic Ruggiero (three goals, one assist) and Tom Mertz (two goals, three assists) lead Cleveland State offensively with seven points each. Djordje Petrovic has also logged three goals for the Vikings. In net, Aleksandar Kolar has started five games, making 12 saves and allowing four goals.

UP NEXT
The Bonnies head back out on the road and return to Atlantic 10 play Saturday, Sept. 26 when they travel south to North Carolina to battle Davidson. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.
