A.J. Rathbun is in his second season with St. Bonaventure Baseball, serving as a student assistant director of analytics.
He previously served in the U.S. Coast Guard for four years as a petty officer third class, stationed in Boston. He received the Coast Guard Achievement Medal while serving.
Following his service, he was a part of the Herkimer College baseball team where he was a part of the 2022 national championship squad coached by his father, Jason Rathbun. A.J. also was the student government vice president and received the Lynn "Pop" Walsh award for sportsmanship.
In Summer 2023, he worked in the Cape Cod Baseball League for the Brewster Whitecaps where he assisted the coaching staff as an analytics member, building in-depth scouting reports and helping coaches analyze statistical data.
He is working on his bachelor's degree in business management.
