Beth Freedman is in her second year with St. Bonaventure as Assistant Director of Academic Success, joining the department in October 2024.

Freedman boasts over two decades of experience in teaching, coaching and mentoring. 
 
She arrives on campus from Michigan where she was a Spanish teacher and athletic trainer at Ecorse (Mich.) Public Schools. Freedman spent time as a teacher and athletic trainer at multiple public schools from 2013-2022.
 
Prior to that, Freedman worked in higher education at Stony Brook University as an adjunct faculty member in the sports medicine department. From 2007-2012, she worked as a faculty member at VCU.
 
She has also worked as an adjunct faculty member at John Tyler Community College and Robert Morris University. Freedman served as head athletic trainer at Brighton High School for seven years and also taught Spanish at Victor (N.Y.) High, Woodland Hills (Pa.) and Chesterfield County (Va.) Public Schools. 
 
Freedman earned her Bachelor's degree in sports medicine and athletic training from Central Michigan University. She also owns a Masters in Spanish Education from the University of Rochester and in curriculum and instruction from Concordia University.

She was a collegiate student-athlete in field hockey at Central Michigan and her two children, Miranda and Sammy, are both members of the fencing team at Ohio State. Her dog, Comet, is an emotional support animal who joins her in the office once each week.Â
