After four successful years as an attacker for St. Bonaventure,Molly Hastrich will join the coaching ranks as a volunteerassistant on the Bonnies' staff, lacrosse head coach Christy Maloneannounced on Wednesday.
In addition to administrative responsibilities, Hastrich willassist with practices and game-day preparation.
During her playing career, Hastrich was a team leader for theBrown and White, as she appeared and started in 62 games throughouther four years. Hastrich is the fourth all-time leading scorer (181points) for the Bonnies and was an Atlantic 10 First TeamAll-Conference and Academic All-Conference selection team followingher junior and senior seasons.
"I know this team and what they are capable of," said Hastrich."I am very excited for our A-10 games. I know what to expectfrom A-10 teams and what we need to do to prepare. The games willmean just as much to as they did when I was a player."
The Horseheads, N.Y. native finished her career with 138 goalsand 43 assists.
"My goal for this year is to help the team maintain a high levelof intensity and get to the A-10 Championship. The last time St.Bonaventure lacrosse went to A-10s was my freshman year and I wantthe team to know how good it feels when hard work pays off.Specifically, I hope to assist the team in making adjustmentsduring the game when needed and staying positive. I plan to pushthem to play hard each minute and to play with composure."
Hastrich graduated in May 2009 with a bachelor's degree inAccounting, and will complete a master's degree in BusinessAdministration in the fall of 2010.
