Seth Johnson is the St. Bonaventure Athletics Senior Associate AD for External Operations. Johnson transitioned into the administrative external relations team after he spent five seasons as the Bonnies’ women’s swimming coach.

In his role, the 2005 St. Bonaventure graduate is responsible for supporting all revenue-generating areas with a focus on men’s basketball ticket sales. He assists with game day operations for all sports and helps to coordinate the department’s special events and community outreach initiatives.

He joined the external relations team in 2009. Following stints as Director of Marketing and Promotions as well as Assistant AD for Marketing, Promotions and Fan Engagement, Johnson transitioned to Senior Associate AD for External Relations in July of 2022.

In this new role, Johnson oversees revenue generating areas including marketing and promotions, ticket sales, sponsorship sales, licensing, sports information, ESPN+ and the Bonnies Online Network. In addition, Johnson is the primary sports supervisor for the baseball program and secondary sports supervisor for the men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs.

Prior to taking over the St. Bonaventure women’s swimming program, Johnson worked at Olean High School for four years as the aquatics director and an assistant coach for the boys and girls swimming teams.

In the summer of 2008, Johnson worked in marketing for the Jamestown Jammers baseball club of the New York-Penn League. Johnson holds a master’s degree in sports administration from American Public University.

Johnson was one of the top swimmers in St. Bonaventure history. He is the former school record holder in the 50 yard freestyle (20.45), a mark he held from 2001 until 2012. Johnson was a two-time all-conference swimmer, including his freshman season when he was named the Atlantic 10 Most Outstanding Rookie. In his four Atlantic 10 Swimming Championships, Johnson captured 14 gold medals, including two in the 50 free.

A native of Frewsburg, N.Y., Johnson and his wife Cindy (deVries), who is also a 2005 St. Bonaventure graduate, reside in Olean with their children Landon, Micah, and Quinlan. Johnson has four siblings who also have graduated from St. Bonaventure -- Anneli, Cael, Asa and Thad.
