The GoBonnies.com Women's Student-Athlete of the Week presented by CPL for the week ending Dec. 8 is women's track freshman Julia Wyant.

Julia Wyant, a native of Allegany, N.Y., sprinted to the top of the Bonnies record board in two events – the 60 meters and the 200 meters - in her first collegiate track meet Friday night at the Houghton December Classic with school records in both events she ran.

In the 60, she won her heat race and ran the fourth-fastest time overall out of 29 competitors at 8.21 and a new school record. She bested the previous SBU record time of 8.60 set in 2022 to jump to the top of the school record book in the event.

She claimed another new school record in the 200, running a time of 27.47 to shatter the previous top school mark of 28.28 also set in 2022. In Friday's race, she finished second out of 26 competitors.
