St. Bonaventure

The GoBonnies.com Female Athlete of the Week presented by CPL for the week ending Sept. 19 is women's tennis sophomore Anastasia Gubanova.

Gubanova helped lead the Bonnies to a victory over Niagara last Friday, winning in singles and doubles. A St. Petersburg, Russia native, Gubanova took down Coral Rodriguez in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, at No. 2 singles and then partnered with Emily Stanley to beat Rodriguez and Madigan Humiston, 7-6, at No. 2 doubles.

Through two fall events, Gubanova is tied for the team lead with three singles victories.

The Bonnies are off until Oct. 1 when they compete at the ITA Regionals.
