Hard-luck Bonnies fall in OT at Richmond

Oct. 11, 2003

RICHMOND, Va. - In a bitter end to a stretch that has seen St. Bonaventure play eight consecutive road games, Chris Lahoud scored 4:15 into overtime to give Richmond a 3-2 win over St. Bonaventure in an Atlantic 10 Conference contest Saturday night.

The Bonnies rallied from a 2-0 deficit to force the overtime. Sophomore midfielder/defender Konrad Paszkowski scored in the 75th minute to make it 2-1, then sophomore midfielder Dan Bowen tied the game at 2-2 in the 84th minute.

In overtime, Lahoud's 40-yard shot beat St. Bonaventure senior keeper Mike Krupka, who got a hand on the ball but not enough to prevent it from going in the net.

Colin Vint and Ken Holiday scored the other Spider goals.

The loss was St. Bonaventure's third overtime setback this season. The Bonnies remained winless in the Atlantic 10, now at 0-4. St. Bonaventure is 1-10-1 overall.

Richmond is 1-0-3 in A-10 play at 4-4-4 overall.

St. Bonaventure will open a four-game homestand next Friday, Oct. 17, against Temple at 3:00.
