PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Alex Trujillo's goal in the 13th minute stood as Duquesne recorded a 1-0 win over St. Bonaventure in Atlantic 10 Conference men's soccer action Sunday afternoon at Duquesne Field.
The Bonnies, who came off a 4-2 setback at Saint Louis on Friday night, were outshot 16-11 but did have a 9-6 advantage in corner kicks. But Dukes keeper Zach Varga made four saves to hold St. Bonaventure off the scoreboard. Nick Lopez led the Bonnies in shots with four.
Bona junior Ken Lish made also made four saves on the afternoon.
St. Bonaventure remained winless on the year at 0-10-1 and dropped to 0-2-1 in A-10 games. Duquesne improved to 7-4-1 overall and 2-1 in the A-10.
The Bonnies will return home next weekend for a pair of conference games beginning Friday, Oct. 13, against LaSalle.
