Baseball loses 5-4 in extra innings to Monmouth

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Monmouth defeated St. Bonaventure 5-4 in 11 innings on Saturday afternoon at Florida Atlantic University.

Monmouth won after Bonnies freshman pitcher Jim Britton walked three batters. The Hawks then recorded a single to score the winning run.

The Bonnies fell behind 3-0 after three innings but came back and tied the game at 3-3 with a pair of runs in the sixth.

Junior outfielder Joe Rizzo finished 3-5 while sophomore centerfielder Randy Moley went 2-5. The Hawks outhit the Bonnies 11-10.

The Bonnies will face Iona on Saturday night at 7 p.m. in Fort Lauderdale.
