Behind a hat trick from senior Courtney Gibbons the St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team remained unbeaten with a 12-9 win at Brown Saturday afternoon.
The win improves the Bonnies' record to 5-0 while the Bears fall to 3-4. St. Bonaventure is one of seven Division 1 teams who are still undefeated.

The Bonnies got off to a fast started behind back-to-back goals from Senior Nicole Motondo in the first 7:35 to take a 2-0 lead. After a Brown goal made it 2-1, Gibbons notched her first goal of the game off a pass from junior Katie Hurley to push the Bona lead back to two.

After the Bears climbed to within one, 9-8, with 11:10 remaining, goals by Gibbons and sophomore Brenna Houghton gave the Bonnies their largest lead of the game, 11-8, with 5:11 on the clock, to put away Brown.
The Bears outshot the Bonnies 31-24 in the game, including 22-8 in the second half. St. Bonaventure committed a season-low 16 turnovers and put 21 of its 24 shots on goal.
Sophomore Eboni Preston improved to 2-0 in goal this season, stopping nine shots on the day.
"We did a good job of taking care of the ball and our shot selection was excellent," said head coach Tony Zostant. "The defense responded well to their second half push and Eboni was excellent in the cage."
Motondo, Houghton, Ross and freshman Katelyn Faas each scored twice. Houghton also dished out a pair of assists to finish with four points and has passed out 11 helpers in the last three games.
