Fordham scored in the first inning when Jordan Lert plated Mike Mobbs from third on a single to left field. The Rams tacked on another four runs in the second, including three on a home run to deep left-center field by Rich Goulian, to make the score 5-0.

Ram's cleanup hitter John Mollicone made it a 6-0 game in the fifth with a line drive homerun that barely cleared the left field fence. Fordham then added three runs in the sixth to take a 9-0 lead.

The Bonnies first hit of the game came on T.J. Pennino's fifth inning single through the right side. Senior left fielder Joe Rizzo, second baseman Kevin Suminski, and designated-hitter Josh Sova each added hits for St. Bonaventure.

St. Bonaventure fell to 7-11 on the year and 2-2 in the Atlantic 10 Conference, while Fordham has now won 11 of its last 14 to improve to 11-9 overall and 3-1 in conference play.

The Bonnies and Rams are back in action on Saturday for game two of the weekend series. First pitch is set for noon at Handler Park.
