Final Stats

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Second-seeded George Washington scored the final six goals of the first half and went on to a 15-9 win over third-seeded St. Bonaventure in the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Tournament on Friday afternoon at Temple's Geasey Field.

The loss moves the Bonnies to 0-4 all-time in the A-10 Tournament as they finish the season with a mark of 8-7. The Colonials (11-6) move on to play top-seeded Richmond in Sunday's championship game at 3:30 p.m. The Spiders defeated Temple 13-6 in the other semifinal game.

Freshman Molly Hastrich got the Brown and White on the board just 53 seconds into the game and ignited a 4-1 start for the Bonnies. Junior Kimberly Ross made it 2-0 followed by scores from sophomore Katelyn Faas and Hastrich wrapped around a GW goal.

St. Bonaventure was able to maintain a two-goal lead for most of the first half until the Colonials reeled-off six unanswered goals over the final 6:51 of the half to take a 9-5 lead at the break. Momentum stayed with George Washington as it extended its run to 8-0 with the first two goals of the second half to make it 11-5.

Faas broke a 23-minute scoreless drought for the Bonnies with her third goal of the game at the 19:45 mark Freshman Patty Nessle made it a 11-7 game 30 seconds later and junior Brenna Houghton converted a pass from Faas to make to make it a three-goal deficit, 11-8, with 16:20 left.

Just as it seemed the Brown and White were poised for a comeback, George Washington dashed the Bonnies' hopes and their season with three-straight goals to put the game away.

Junior Eboni Preston turned in another gutsy performance in cage as the Bonnies were outshot 45-20 for the game. Preston made 15 saves and extended her double-digit save streak to 10 games.

George Washington was able to maintain possession most of the game thanks to 20 St. Bonaventure turnovers and a 16-10 edge in draw controls.

Faas notched her 10th hat trick of the season and finished her sophomore campaign with a team-best 68 points - the third highest single-season total in program history. Ross, Hastrich and Nessle all finished with two points, while juniors Stephanie Jordan and Houghton had one goal apiece.
