NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. - The St. Bonaventure baseball team pushed across 20 runs on 19 hits as it upped its win streak to seven games with a doubleheader sweep at Big 4 rival Niagara on Wednesday evening at Sal Maglie Stadium.

Fortunately, for the Bonnies, their solid day at the plate overshadowed their struggles in the field. The Brown and White committed five errors over the two games and only three of the eight Niagara runs were earned. St. Bonaventure jumped out to early leads in both games en route to 8-4 win in the opener and a 12-4 victory in the nightcap.

The two wins give the Brown and White a 4-1 mark against Big 4 opponents this season and a 15-9 overall record. St. Bonaventure will return to Buffalo tomorrow for a 3 p.m. tilt against another Big 4 rival in Canisius.

Again, the Bonnies were led by senior Randy Moley who turned in monster offensive performance with a 4-for-7 day at the dish that included four runs scored, two stolen bases, a double, his fourth home run of the season and six RBI.

St. Bonaventure also received solid starting pitching outings from senior Michael Proctor and junior Matt Stewart. Proctor earned his second win of the season in the opener, lasting five and two-third innings. The lefty scattered eight hits, while allowing just one earned run and striking out four. Stewart improved to 2-0 on the year with his six-inning win in game two. The Alfred State transfer struck out five and allowed just two earned runs.

Juniors Tristan Mulcahy and Brandon Salerno also contributed four hits each on the day. Mulcahy broke out of a recent slump with a 2-for-4 performance in each game, including two RBI in the opener. After an RBI single in game one, Salerno went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles in game two. Senior T.J. Pennino reached base three times in game one, scoring each time.
