Baseball drops A-10 Championship opener to Duquesne

CAMDEN, N.J. - Duquesne exploded for 12 runs during the bottom of the sixth and seventh innings to overcome a 4-3 deficit en route to a 16-6 victory over the St. Bonaventure baseball team earlier this afternoon in its opening game of the Atlantic 10 Championship at Campbell's Field.

Following their fourth loss of the season to Duquesne, the Bonnies will be forced to play again at 7:55 p.m. this evening in an elimination contest against fourth seeded Temple. The Owls dropped a 7-1 decision to #5 Rhode Island in the tournament's first game of the day.

Senior Cody Vincent (6-6) was credited with the loss after surrendering nine earned runs in 5 1/3 innings of action. Fellow classmate T.J. Pennino tallied three RBI against the Dukes thanks to his second home run of the season. Reigning A-10 Player of the Week Kevin Suminski added a pair of RBI following a 2-for-4 effort at the dish.
