BONA Bullets
- This is the second time this season the Bonnies dropped two
games in a row.
- The Brown and White's 52 points against Duquesne are a
season-low as the Bonnies shot just 17-of-47 from the field.
- The Brown and White have let four of their last five opponents
score more than 60 points.
- Coach Jim Crowley is two wins away from his
125th at St. Bonaventure and three from 165 career wins.
- Senior Dana Mitchell is second in the A-10 in
scoring, averaging 17.2 points per game. She has put up 18 points
or more in eight out of the last 10 contests.
- Redshirt sophomore Armelia Horton is averaging
13.3 points in conference play after opening against Saint Louis
with a career-high 18 points
- Senior Andrea Doneth entered the top 10 list
in assists with 274. She leads the team with 55 and is 26 away from
moving into ninth.
- St. Bonaventure's 12 non-conference victories matches the
program best set by the 2007-08 squad.
- The Bonnies have had at least two players score in double
figures in each game. In the Christmas City Classic game against
IUPUI, four Bonnies scored double-digits.

Scouting the Explorers
La Salle is currently on a four-game skid including three in
conference play. The Explorers are led by Morgan Robertson who
averages 11.1, but missed the game against Xavier due to injury. La
Salle is sixth in the A-10 going 69 percent from the line. Starting
senior Jamie Walsh has a knack from behind the arc shooting 40
percent for fifth in the A-10. Last season Robertson had a
double-double against the Bonnies with 12 points and a game-high 11
rebounds.
This Day in BONA BASKETBALL
The Bonnies are 2-5 on January 20, dating back to the 1986-87
season - the last actual recorded dates. St. Bonaventure last won
on Jan. 20 against Temple, 83-76 in 2002.
Series Note
The Explorers and Bonnies have split the last four games 2-2 each
taking one at home and one on the road.
LAST TIME against the EXLPORERS
Senior Dana Mitchell scored a season-high 27
points (12-17) against La Salle last season - no other Bonnie hit
double-digits, but three Explorers did. Former Bonnie Priscilla
Edwards passed out a game-high seven assists.
UNDER PRESSURE
The Bonnies scoring defense ranks 13th in the nation and first in
the Atlantic 10 allowing 53.8 points per game. Twelve of St.
Bonaventure's opponents have been held to under 60
points.
Wacky WEDNESDAY
St. Bonaventure is 2-2 when playing on Wednesday. The Bonnies last
won on a Wednesday against Buffalo back on December 9.
Breaking the NORM
Virginia was the first team to shoot better than 45 percent (50
percent) against the Bonnies. St. Bonaventure then allowed A-10 foe
Dayton to shoot 52 percent.
It's Raining Threes
The Brown and White have scored at least one three-pointer in 180
games dating back to 2004. The last time the Bonnies failed to
convert a three-point basket in a game was on February 14, 2004
against Temple.
In the nation
In the Jan. 18 NCAA statistics, the Bonnies ranked in the top-10
in the nation in two categories - fourth in free-throw percentage
(79.1) and sxth in three-point field-goal percentage (39.9).
“Three” to be you and me
Sophomore Jessica Jenkins scored six
three-pointers against Virginia to match the ninth spot on the
all-time list with 85. She needs 16 more to move into eighth to
match former teammate Erica Schiefen's spot with 101.
DOUBLE your pleasure, DOUBLE your fun
In each of the Bonnies' victories, the scoring margin has
been in double figures. Quinnipiac was the closest win at 77-67
while St. Bonaventure beat Akron and IUPUI by 30 points each.
Now BOARDING
The Bonnies have out-rebounded their opponents in 12 of their 18
contests by an average of 3.7 per game.
Sixth Woman
Freshman Chelsea Bowker has been the
Bonnies' go-to woman off the bench. Bowker has a knack for
long range to assist in averaging 6.0 points per game, shooting 43
percent from the floor and 43 percent from beyond the arc.
Going LONG
The Bonnies have scored three or more three-pointers in 15 out of
their 18 games. They scored a season-high nine at Quinnipiac and
against Buffalo.
MOVING on Up (in the books)
Preseason All-Conference first team selection Dana Mitchell moved
into the third spot on the all-time scoring list after scoring 19
points against BGSU. She now has 1,772 points. She is now 102
points away from second and still trails the top spot held by
Hilary Waltman by 334 points.
Outside the Arc
St. Bonaventure is shooting 40 percent from beyond the arc to rank
first in the A-10 and sixth in the nation. Sophomore Jessica
Jenkins is second in the A-10 in three-point field goals made with
47.
