BONA Bullets
- The double-digit victory against Fordham is the largest
conference victory since 1999.
- The Bonnies held Fordham to 28 percent shooting which is a
season-low for a SBU opponent.
- Temple knocked the Bonnies out of the Atlantic 10 tournament
last year after SBU beat Temple in the regular season for the first
time in seven years.
- Dana Mitchell scored her 1,800th career point
in the 63-52 loss against Xavier on
- January 23. Mitchell became the third player in program history
to reach the milestone.
- Coach Jim Crowley won his 125th game at St.
Bonaventure against Fordham and is now one away from from 165
career wins.
- Senior Dana Mitchell is second in the A-10 in
scoring, averaging 16.7 points per game. She has put up 18 points
or more in eight out of the last 13 contests.
- Senior Andrea Doneth entered the top 10 list
in assists with 278. She leads the team with 60 and is 21 away from
moving into ninth.
- St. Bonaventure needs six more wins to match season's
record-setting nine conference wins.
- St. Bonaventure's 12 non-conference victories matches the
program best set by the 2007-08 squad.

Scouting the Owls
Temple is currently on a five-game winning streak including four
victories in conference play. The Owls dropped their opening A-10
game against Xavier, 82-69. Sophomore Kristen McCarthy and junior
Qwedia Wallace lead the Owls with 13.2 and 11.5 points per game,
respectively. Senior Jasmine Stone leads the team in rebounds at
8.9 per game, good enough for fifth place in the A-10.
This Day in BONA BASKETBALL
The Bonnies are 4-3 on January 30 - dating back to the 1986-87
season, the last season that has actual dates recorded. Their last
victory was in 2008 against Duquesne. 62-61 at home.
Series Note
St. Bonaventure's victory in last season's match up at
the Reilly Center was the first one in seven years. The Owls
answered back knocking the Bonnies out of the A-10 tournament.
LAST SEASON against the OWLS
The Bonnies split two games with Temple last season. St.
Bonaventure beat Temple for the first time in seven years at the
Reilly Center 55-52. The Owls then came back for the Bonnies at the
Atlantic 10 tournament and came out with a win 67-63. Dana Mitchell
scored in double-digits in both games while Megan Van Tatenhove
came off the bench to score 17 in the tournament loss.
UNDER PRESSURE
The Bonnies scoring defense ranks first in the Atlantic 10 and
11th in the nation allowing 53.3 points per game. Thirteen of St.
Bonaventure's opponents have been held to under 60
points.
Super SATURDAY
The Bonnies are 3-2 on Saturdays. They lost to Dayton and Xavier
on Saturdays and last won at the Reilly Center when they hosted
Saint Louis.
There's no Place like Home
The Bonnies are 8-2 at home this season. St. Bonaventure went 13-3
at home last season with losses coming against Syracuse, Duquesne
and South Florida.
Back to NORM
St. Bonaventure only allowed La Salle and Fordham to shoot under
32 perccent from the field to settle back into its defensive ways
that led them to an 11-0 start.
It's Raining Threes
The Brown and White have scored at least one three-pointer in 183
games dating back to 2004. The last time the Bonnies failed to
convert a three-point basket in a game was on February 14, 2004
against Temple.
In the nation
In the Jan. 25 NCAA statistics, the Bonnies ranked in the top-10
in the nation in two categories - fourth in free-throw percentage
(79.5) and seventh in three-point field-goal percentage (39.7).
DOUBLE your pleasure, DOUBLE your fun
In each of the Bonnies' victories, the scoring margin has
been in double figures. Quinnipiac was the closest win at 77-67
while St. Bonaventure beat Akron and IUPUI by 30 points each.
Now BOARDING
The Bonnies have out-rebounded their opponents in 13 of their 21
contest. St. Bonaventure had more rebounds (39) than Fordham did
points (36).
Sixth Woman
Freshman Chelsea Bowker has been the
Bonnies' go-to woman off the bench. Bowker has a knack for
long range to assist in averaging 5.4 points per game, shooting 42
percent from the floor and 43 percent from beyond the arc.
