ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. — The Bonnies (10-7-0, 4-3-0 A-10) enter the final weekend of the regular season with an Atlantic 10 Tournament berth up for grabs as they travel to George Washington and Richmond on Friday and Sunday.
Only the top six teams make the tournament and the Bonnies are currently in a two-way tie for fourth with Massachusetts. Dayton and Charlotte have already clinched spots, but six teams fighting for the other four spots.
The Bonnies enter the weekend having won three straight games including a senior day shocker against previously-ranked Dayton on Sunday. Senior Anna Cunningham garnered A-10 and Collegesoccer360.com Player of the Week honors after scoring the game winning goal against the Flyers on a spectacular header from 12 feet out.
George Washington (9-4-0, 3-4-0 A-10) needs two wins this weekend to keep their post-season hopes alive. After starting off 3-0 in conference the Colonials have lost four straight games and gone from being tied for first to eighth place in just two weeks.
Richmond (5-9-2, 2-4-1 A-10) also comes into the weekend on a losing streak. The Spiders have dropped three straight games and hold slim hopes for the Atlantic 10 playoff picture. They would need to win both of their games this weekend just to have a chance.
St. Bonaventure controls its own destiny on the weekend, but action around the A-10 is sure to be intense headed into the final weekend of the regular season.
