BONA Bullets
- Senior Dana Mitchell will have her jersey
retired at the halftime of the men's game, becoming the first
women's player to have a jersey hang in the Reilly Center
rafters. On a 10-4 Bonnie run against GW, she hit the first of two
free throws to surpass Sue Shay on the scoring list and is now
second all-time with 1,878 points.
- Mitchell, Megan Van Tatenhove and
Jessica Jenkins lead in scoring in conference
play.
- The Brown and White have scored at least one three-pointer in
188 games dating back to 2004. The last time the Bonnies failed to
convert a three-point basket in a game was on February 14, 2004
against Temple.
- St. Bonaventure has won all of its victories by 10 or more
points and lost by 11 or less.
- Coach Jim Crowley is two wins away from 130
victories at St. Bonaventure. He also needs three wins for 170
all-time.
- Senior Andrea Doneth entered the top 10 list in assists with
278 and is nine away from moving into ninth. She currently has 291
and leads the team with 72.
- St. Bonaventure needs three more A-10 wins to match last
season's record-setting nine conference wins.

Scouting the Spiders
Richmond, currently in seventh place in the A-10, went 1-1 last
week after losing at Xavier on Sunday and defeating Rhode Island on
Saturday. Sophomore Brittani Shells leads the Spiders and the A-10
in scoring with 17.0 ppg. Richmond and Shells are first in the A-10
in steals. The theifs take 11.5 per game while she averages 2.9 per
game.The Spiders have lost to Dayton, Charlotte, Duquesne and
Xavier in conference play - the same opponents that dropped the
Bonnies.
This Day in BONA BASKETBALL
The Bonnies are 2-6 on February 17 - dating back to the 1986-87
season - the last season that has actual dates recorded. The last
time they played on this date was coincidentally against Richmond
in 2002.
Series Note
Richmond is on a two-game winning streak against the Bonnies. The
Bonnies last beat the Spiders in 2007 at the Robins Center.
LAST SEASON against the Spiders
Even with four double-figure scorers against the Spiders last
season, the Bonnies could not stop then-freshman Brittani
Shells' 26 points that led to a 71-64 victory for Richmond.
Dana Mitchell and Megan Van
Tatenhove led the way with 18 and 17 points, respectively.
The Bonnies were perfect from the line going 20-for-20.
There's no Place like Home
The Bonnies are 10-3 at home this season. They are outscoring
opponents by 14.2 points when they enter the Reilly Center and only
allowing an average of 50.5 points.
MOVING on Up (in the books)
Preseason All-Conference first team selection Dana
Mitchell moved into the second spot on the all-time
scoring list after scoring 20 points against George Washington. She
now has 1,878 points. and trails the top spot held by Hilary
Waltman by 228 points.
The Ball is OURS
The Brown and White keeps a tight grip on the ball as they are
first in the A-10 in turnovers per game, averaging 13.9. The
Bonnies only had six against George Washington for a
season-low.
UNDER PRESSURE
The Bonnies scoring defense ranks ninth in the nation and first in
the Atlantic 10 allowing 53.2 points per game. Seventeen of St.
Bonaventure's opponents have been held to under 60
points.
She'll TAKE that
Armelia Horton and Dana Mitchell
lead the team in steals with 31. Horton has registered at least one
in 18 of her 24 played games - grabbing 20 of those steals at the
Reilly Center.
In the nation
In the Feb. 15 NCAA statistics, the Bonnies ranked in the top-10
in the nation in four categories - third in free-throw percentage
(80.2), ninth in scoring defense (53.2), seventh in three-point
percentage (38.5) and sixth in turnovers per game (13.6).
A-10 ACTION
Redshirt sophomore Armelia Horton is averaging
9.1 points in conference play. After posting double figures in
three non-conference games, she has posted double digit scoring
games in five of the 11 conference contests.
“Three” to be you and me
Sophomore Jessica Jenkins scored six
three-pointers against Virginia to move into the ninth spot on the
all-time list with 82. She is now in eighth with 106 passing former
teammate Erica Schiefen's spot with 101. She needs just six
more to match Audrey Latendresse's 112 for seventh.
The “SOPH”-ter side of things
Sophomore Megan Van Tatenhove is second on the
team in scoring (11.7) after posting two game-high performances at
UMass and against Saint Joseph's. She has now led in scoring
six games.

St. Bonaventure made more free throws than its opponent attempted
for the eighth time this season against UMass.
