ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Senior Nathan Peck
posted his ninth career top five finish to help St.
Bonaventure take sixth place out of the 21-team field at the Navy
Spring Invitational on Sunday afternoon at the Naval Academy Golf
Course.
Peck's final round 75 was the low round of the day for the
Bonnies, who followed Saturday's team score of 305 with another 305
in the final round. The Brown and White entered the day in a tie
for fourth, but slipped two positions, as just three teams broke
300 on the day.
Host Navy (592) held off a strong final round charge from
Bucknell (292) to claim the team title. Bucknell carded a 292 in
the final round, while Navy nearly lost the title with a 306.
Columbia (602) took third, Lafayette (603) finished fourth and
Saint Francis-PA (605) moved up to fifth with a 297 on Sunday.
Peck finished in a four-way tie for fifth place out of the field
of 104. Peck has finished in the top 20 or better in all four
events in the spring and seven of the 10 tournaments in his final
campaign. The Tecumseh, Ontario native's 72-75/147 (+5) weekend
featured a tournament-best 26 pars. Peck also ranked tied for
second in par 4 scoring for the tournament at two-over par.
Freshman Kevin Lewis
(pictured) held strong in 14th place in the
individual standings with a final round 76. Lewis fired a
three-over par 75 on Saturday and entered the day in a four-way tie

Stoddard improved on Saturday's score by three strokes
with a 77 on Sunday. Junior Kristopher
Boyes turned in the final counting score with a
77.
For the weekend, the Bonnies tied for second amongst the field
with 22 birdies, ranked eighth with 87 pars, finished fourth in par
3 scoring (3.37/+11) and sixth in par 4 scoring (4.41).
St. Bonaventure will be back in action with its final tune up
before the A-10 Championships when it heads to State College, Pa.
for the Penn State Rutherford Intercollegiate. The tournament will
begin on Saturday, April 24.
