WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Senior Gabe Williams fired a historic 5-under-par 66 in the opening round of the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate on Monday, highlighting the St. Bonaventure men's golf team's performance this week.

Williams' 66 was just one stroke off the program's all-time record and marked the seventh round of 66 or better in school history. He joins Christian Chapman as the only Bonnies to achieve the feat multiple times, having also shot a 66 last fall at The Murray Cup. Williams led the team for the week, finishing with a 54-hole total of 221 to place 38^th in the 86-player field.

Sophomore Braddock Damore followed with a consistent performance, carding rounds of 75, 76, and 76 for a 227 total to place in a tie for 46th. Seniors Michael Bucko and Caleb Decker with sophomore Dante Bertoni turned in scores of 235. Freshman Colin Barber submitted 78-80-80 totaling 238.

As a team, the Bonnies finished 11th in the 12-team field with a total score of 917. The squad showed strength on the par-5s throughout the tournament, led by Williams' team-high birdie count (12) and a first round eagle on the 498-yard par-5 second hole.

William & Mary University took home the team title with the only score under par (-2), 13 strokes ahead of Villanova University (+11) and 17 ahead of Navy (+15).
