ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Pitching was the story in the first game of the double header as Robert Morris pitcher Alexa Bryson was strong throughout, allowing just two hits in six innings, both to Brooke Frey, carrying the Colonials to the 7-1 victory in game one.

St. Bonaventure also dropped game two, 7-2, as the Bonnies fall to 8-19 on the season while Robert Morris moves to 21-15.  The Bonnies are home again tomorrow for a double header starting at 3 p.m. against Canisius.

After a rainy and cold weekend, the sun came out and the Bonnies found themselves locked in a pitcher's duel in the early innings.  The Colonials tacked on one run in the first but were held scoreless until the sixth when the scoring drought by both teams was broken.

Robert Morris added on one run in the sixth which turned into the game winning run on Ashley Calderone's single up the middle to score Jaci Timko. The Colonials plated five more in the top of the seventh to clinch game one.

The Bonnies' lone run of the game came from freshman Jessenia Andujar's single to the left side. She brought in Whitney Schlimm who pinch ran for Sherri Thompson before a line out ended the game.

Game two saw the Colonials scatter runs throughout the first four innings, to lead 6-0 before the Bonnies tacked on a run in the fifth. Schlimm sat on third after hitting her first career triple and scored on sophomore Diana Phalon's first RBI of the season.

Robert Morris added one more run in the final inning to lead 7-1.  The Bonnies attempt at a rally fell short as Phalon mustered her second RBI of the game as she plated Samantha Rajski.  Rajski picked up her first hit of the season with a double to left field.

Thompson earned the loss in seven innings of work, giving up 11 hits and six earned runs while striking out five.  Sophomore Erin Nargi got the loss in game two giving up nine hits and six earned runs.
