ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - The Bonnies are coming off of arguably two of the best seasons in program history, and will open the 2010 campaign against Bucknell at 3 p.m. on Saturday at McGraw-Jennings Field.
In 2009, St. Bonaventure finished in third place in the Atlantic 10, preceded by a fourth-place showing in 2008. The Bonnies return all but one starter from their second straight double-digit win season and second straight berth in the Atlantic 10 tournament.
Among the returning players are All-Conference forwards Anna Cunningham and Courtney Bosse. Cunningham enters her senior year with 53 career points (17 goals, 19 assists), ranking her 12th in program's history. She is followed by classmate Bosse who has 47 career points (19 goals, 9 assists) for 13th on the all-time list.
The Bonnies return 100 percent of their goal scoring from 2009, and added Preseason All-Rookie pick Jordan Calabria into the fold.
Under fifth-year head coach Manoj Khettry, the Bonnies are 21-19-1 in the past two seasons. Khettry, who is 2-2 in season openers, has produced regionally-ranked recruiting classes and improved the program since he was hired in 2006. The Brown and White have something to prove as they were predicted to finish seventh in the Atlantic 10 race this year.
