Bonnies Square Off Against Houghton Wednesday Night

HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Coming off a 3-2 win Sunday night at Wright State, the men's soccer team travels east down Route 417 to Houghton Wednesday night to take on the Highlanders.

The Bonnies' win over WSU helped them bounce back from a 2-1 setback at Buffalo last Tuesday night. The Highlanders (4-4-0) are coming off a 2-1 win against Daemen.

St. Bonaventure (3-3-0) defeated Houghton, a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), last year at McGraw-Jennings Field, 2-0. Sam Maheu and Dan Mitchell scored the two goals for the Bonnies.

The Highlanders come into Wednesday night's game winners of two in a row. Houghton returns 18 players from a team that went 9-8-2 last year. Matthew Webb is in his 7th season as head coach of the Highlanders, and owns a 46-49-15 record at the school.

For the Bonnies, senior Brett Allen leads the way offensively. The Rochester, N.Y., native heads the Bonnies in both points (7) and goals (3).

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Burke Field.
