VERNON, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure golf team wrapped up its season-opening tournament on Monday with a 14th-place finish at the Missouri Tiger Intercollegiate at Turning Stone Resort.

The Bonnies shot a team score of 327 in the third, and final, round from Kaluhyat Golf Club. Baylor won the tournament title with a final-round 290, and three-round total of 853. That total was 11 shots clear of TCU in the 14-team field as the Horned Frogs finished at Even par for the week.

After shooting a 2-under 70 in his second round on Sunday afternoon, senior Kevin Lewis shot an 80 on Monday. Junior Brian McKenna fired a team-best 78 in the final round, and finished tied with Lewis for 42nd overall with a three-round total of 229 (+13).

Sophomore Scott Brady shaped a final-round 82 out of the 7,105-yard course, and concluded the tournament tied for 55th overall with a 235 (+19).

Fellow sophomore Chris Mackey concluded play with an 87, while junior Greg Horvath shot a 91.

The Bonnies will look to bounce back when they return to action next week at the Little Three Championship. St. Bonaventure will battle local rivals Niagara and Canisius at Niagara Falls Country Club beginning at 8 a.m. on Sept. 13.
