ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Four St. Bonaventure players scored at least 15 points as the Bonnies routed The Citadel, 97-57, on Wednesday night in men's basketball action at the Reilly Center.

Combined with its 87-53 victory over Cleveland State on Saturday, SBU won by 30 points or more in consecutive games for the first time since the 1969-70 season, when the Bob Lanier-led Bonnies defeated Baldwin-Wallace (96-63) and Loyola, Md. (96-52) in back-to-back contests.

Demitrius Conger and Chris Johnson each netted 16 points to lead St. Bonaventure (7-3) to its highest point total of the season. Eric Mosley (pictured) and Marquise Simmons each chipped in 15 points for the Bonnies, who also produced season highs in assists (26), steals (13) and field-goal percentage (56 percent).

Youssou Ndoye came in as the fifth SBU player in double figures with 10 points. Mosley also dished out a career-high seven assists, while Simmons and Conger led the Bonnies on the glass with nine and eight rebounds, respectively. Jordan Gathers collected a season-high nine points and also notched his career high in assists with six.

It marks the sixth time this year – all coming in the last eight games – that Bonaventure has placed at least four scorers in double figures, and first time this season that a quintet has reached the double-figure plateau.

With the win, the Brown and White moves to 5-0 at the Reilly Center this year, and has won seven in a row dating back to last season. Going back further, the Bonnies have claimed victories in 15 of their last 16 regular-season home games, and 21 of 23.

Bonaventure never trailed as it raced out to a 15-2 start in just more than four minutes. A 15-0 run early in the second half put the game out of reach as the Bonnies turned a 43-30 lead into 58-30, once again in just more than four minutes.

For the second straight game the Bonnies shot better than 50 percent in the first half as they connected at a 51.5-percent clip (17-33, including 6-13 from 3-point range). Additionally, SBU had an assist on all by three of those 17 field goals en route to its 43-28 lead.

For the game, Bona's had an assist on all but 10 of its 36 field goals and turned the ball 11 times, compared with 20 for Southern Conference member Bulldogs. Bonaventure converted those 20 giveaways into a season-high 30 points, and now has 56 points off turnovers in the last two games (30.4 percent of its 184 points).

The Citadel was led offensively by Mike Groselle, who netted 14 points, while Matt Van Scyoc tallied 13 and Ashton Moore added 10. After holding a 9-4 rebound advantage at the first media timeout of the first half (under 16 minutes), The Citadel was out-rebounded by the Bonnies the rest of the game, 33-18.

For the second game in a row, all 12 players who dressed saw game action, including freshman Jean Yves Toupane and walk-on Danny Farrell. Toupane played three minutes, grabbed the first two rebounds of his career and made his first 3-pointer.

St. Bonaventure returns to action on Saturday against NC State in Raleigh. The Wolfpack is ranked No. 25 in the Associated Press Poll and is the first team out of the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. from the PNC Arena.

GAME NOTES: It marks the second straight game that Bonaventure has had a 40-point lead … Conger knocked down a 3-pointer to beat the halftime buzzer … it is the fourth time this year SBU has reached the 80-point plateau, and the first time since the 2002-03 season that Bonaventure has scored 80 or more in four of its first 10 games … the last time SBU had five players in double-figure scoring was the double-overtime home finale last year against Saint Joseph's on Feb. 29 … Bonaventure shot 81 percent from the free-throw line (17-21) and 55.6 from the 3-point line (10-18).
