ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – After an outstanding performance in the 2026 FIBA U18 EuroBasket championships, Spanish center Chiek Diallo has signed a letter of intent to join the St. Bonaventure men's basketball program for the 2026-2027 season.

Diallo arrives at St. Bonaventure after playing in the Spanish national team program and most recently with the Baskonia club team.

"We are excited to add Chiek to the Bonnies," head coach Mike MacDonald said. "He brings the kind of size, strength and developing talent to our frontcourt necessary to compete in one of the nation's best conferences, the Atlantic 10. Chiek has been coached well in the renowned Spanish national program and his eagerness to learn, work and compete are important traits in a young big man." 

Diallo, who is 6-foot-9 and 240 pounds, averaged 11.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and shot 52 percent from the field at the July EuroBasket championship in Trento, Italy.

A native of Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, Chiek (pronounced Check) will be a freshman this season.
