Golf Wraps Up Snowman Getaway In 15th Place

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The St. Bonaventure golf team completed its first spring tournament on Tuesday with a 15th-place finish at the Re-Bath Snowman Getaway hosted by Washington State University.

With winds subsided from Monday's opening two rounds, the Bonnies were able to shave 21 shots off their second-round total to shoot a 315 on Tuesday and finish the tournament with a three-round total of 963. Missouri-Kansas City was able to maintain its overnight lead and win with the 16-field invite with an 877 score.

Despite shooting his worst round of the tournament with an 83 on Tuesday, junior Greg Horvath finished as the Bona low man with a three-round total of 239. Right behind him was classmate Brian McKenna who closed with a final-round 78 to complete his tournament with a 240.

After shooting the Bonnies' worst round of the tournament in Monday's second round, senior Kevin Lewis bounced back with SBU's lowest round of the Getaway with a 4-over 76 on Tuesday to finish with a 242.

Freshman Scott Brady fired his best round of the tournament by shaping a 78 out of the par-72 Palm Valley Golf Course on Tuesday to finish fourth on the Bona roster with a three-round 245. Freshman Pierce Terrance closed with a 92 in the final round to end the invite with a 256 total.

Bonaventure will have more than a month between tournaments as it will return to the links at the Fireline Towson Invitational at Prospect Bay Country Club in Maryland March 30-April 1.
