The St. Bonaventure baseball team lost the final game in its three-game series at Dayton 6-2 Sunday afternoon.
After the Flyers scored a run in the bottom of the first inning, the Bonnies tied the game in the top of the third on a single by junior second baseman Jason Radwan, scoring senior catcher Michael Grieco.
Dayton reclaimed the lead with a run in the bottom of the third and added another run in the bottom of the fourth.
The Brown and White pulled within one following a single by senior left fielder Nick Brennen, batting in sophomore first baseman Justin Brozick in the top of the seventh. The Flyers scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to end the scoring.
Brennen lead St. Bonaventure at the plate, going two for five with two hits and a RBI.
On the mound, redshirt senior Cael Johnson threw for six and two-thirds innings, recording four strikeouts while allowing three earned runs, six hits and six walks. Sophomore right-hander Asa Johnson pitched one and a third innings without allowing any hits, runs or walks.
The Bonnies, now 9-8 on the season, will face Big Four rival Canisius Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Fred Handler Park at McGraw-Jennings Field.
