2012-13 Statistics

The St. Bonaventure women's tennis team continues its spring season with a trip to Army for a pair of dual matches on Friday and Saturday before returning home to face Bucknell on Sunday.

The Bonnies meet Army at 7 p.m. Friday and match up with Atlantic 10 rival Massachusetts at 3 p.m. Saturday. Both matches are scheduled to be played at Army's Lichtenberg Center. St. Bonaventure then hosts Bucknell at 3 p.m. Sunday at the SBU Fitness Center.

The Bonnies are 2-4 on the season, with losses in their last two matches – at Pittsburgh, 7-0, and at home to Colgate, 4-3. Against the Raiders, SBU's top three singles players all prevailed, as sophomores Fatya Amiri and Marissa Brossard won in straight sets at first and second singles, respectively, and senior Kathryn Kvas rallied for a three-set victory at the third position.

The Bonnies' top two of Amiri and Brossard have been particularly strong during the spring season as both have forged a 4-2 record. Counting the fall season, Brossard improved to a team best 8-5 with her victory against Colgate. Amiri (6-7) picked up sixth win of year against the Raiders while Kvas (5-7) notched her fifth victory.

Army is 3-0 on the spring with home victories over Binghamton, 6-1, Sacred Heart, 4-3 and Seton Hall, 5-2. The Black Knights' scheduled matches against Stony Brook, Connecticut and Fordham last weekend were cancelled due to weather.

Massachusetts is 3-1 with victories over Providence, 5-2, Connecticut, 7-0, and Saint Joseph's, 6-1. The Minutewomen's lone loss came at Brown, 4-3. Their scheduled match against Harvard this past Saturday was cancelled due to weather.

Bucknell is 1-2 on the year with a pair of losses coming last weekend at Duquesne and Pittsburgh by 6-1 scores. The Bison's lone win came over St. Francis (Pa.), 5-2. The Bonnies, on the other hand, were defeated by St. Francis, 5-2, at home on Jan. 27.

Following this weekend, St. Bonaventure stays home for an Atlantic 10 meeting against Temple at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24.
