Women's Tennis Welcomes Siena For Sunday Match

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure women's tennis team returns to the court to face intrastate rival Siena at 4 p.m. Sunday at the SBU Fitness Center.

Plagued by injuries since early February, the Bonnies (2-11) are seeking to a snap a nine-match losing streak. The Saints, meanwhile, are 2-4 overall and winless in four spring matches. They visit Niagara on Saturday before meeting SBU.

Two of Siena's recent losses have come to opponents the Bonnies have also lost to – Army and Colgate. Both teams were shutout by Army, 7-0, while St. Bonaventure fell to Colgate 4-3 and Siena was defeated by the Raiders 6-1.

Both of SBU's victories – over Robert Morris and Slippery Rock – have come at home, whereas the Saints have one win in four road matches – at Wagner during the fall season.

In singles competition, Siena players are 27-45 overall, led by Erika Reagan's six victories and Allysa Singh's five wins. The Saints boast a 12-21 doubles mark, led by Brittany Filip and Elora Benfer's 7-3 record.

Sophomore Marissa Brossard heads the Bonnies with a 10-10 singles mark, while classmate Fatya Amiri is close behind at nine victories. In doubles play, Brossard and Amiri have combined for a team-best three wins.

After its match against Siena, St. Bonaventure doesn't return to action until Friday, March 29 when it visits Atlantic 10 foe La Salle.
