Women's Tennis Blanked At Youngstown State

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The St. Bonaventure women's tennis team was blanked by Youngstown State, 7-0, on Friday afternoon at the Boardman Tennis Center.

The Bonnies dropped each of the first five singles matches in straight sets and forfeited the final match due to injury. At first singles, SBU sophomore Fatya Amiri saw her three-match individual winning streak come to an end with a 6-2, 6-4 loss to Paula de Man.

In doubles play, St. Bonaventure's teams of Amiri and classmate Marissa Brossard and seniors Riley Archer and Kathryn Kvas fell, 8-3 and 8-0, respectively. The Bonnies forfeited the third doubles match.

The loss dropped SBU to 2-11 on the spring while Youngstown State improved to 7-4. The Penguins' victory avenged a 5-2 loss at St. Bonaventure last year.

The Bonnies next return home to face Siena at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 17 at the SBU Fitness Center.
