@BonniesBaseball Returns Home For Tuesday Matinee

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure baseball team (10-17) is scheduled to return to action against the visiting University at Buffalo Bulls (18-14) in a single game Tuesday beginning at 3 p.m.

The contest is rescheduled from an April 2 doubleheader, when they were originally postponed due to inclement weather. The Bonnies are set to play at Fred Handler Park for the first time since March 31, and just the fourth time all season long.

SBU is coming off a series loss to conference opponent Massachusetts. After dropping two out of three to Minutemen, the Bonnies have fallen into a three-way tie for 11th place in the Atlantic 10 Conference.

Senior Jason Radwan has stayed hot throughout the year, as his batting average of .414 continues to climb. The second baseman remains the only player in the A-10 with a batting average above .400, and his performance at the plate has helped elevate the Bonnies to the sixth-best team batting average in the league.

Fellow senior and infielder Billy Urban joins Radwan as a surging Bonnie, as the pair has served as a 1-2 punch for head coach Larry Sudbrook all season long. Urban is second on the team in batting average (.327), and leads the team in RBI (20). Junior Joel Rosencrance has also emerged as a tough out in the Bonnies' lineup, tying for the team lead in home runs (2), leading the Brown and White in walks (15) and ranking second on the team to Radwan in on-base percentage (.423).

UB rolls into McGraw-Jennings Field coming off a series win at Eastern Michigan. After winning six of their last nine games, the Bulls are second in the Mid-American Conference standings. They are led by senior outfielder Jason Kanzler, who paces the team in batting average (.351), hits (46), home runs (7) and RBI (35). Kanzler leads the MAC in both home runs and RBI.

In addition to good hitting, the Bulls have had great success on the mound. With a team ERA of 3.89, they rank among the top teams in the MAC in team pitching. They also have 168 strikeouts as a team, with 47 of them coming from junior Mike Burke (5-2).

Following the game against UB, the Bonnies will have a quick turnaround as they will travel to Binghamton for one game on Wednesday afternoon. It is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
