ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team (6-9, 0-5) continues the search for their first Atlantic-10 win since 2011 when they take on UMass (13-2, 5-0) Friday. The home game start time has been moved from 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The Bonnies broke a seven game losing streak Wednesday when they downed Detroit Mercy 15-9. Sophomore Erin Thomas netted a season-high five goals in the win. Jenna Schlagenhauf added her 36th goal of her 15 game season. The Bonnies will have their hands full, however, as UMass boasts a perfect 5-0 conference record. The Brown and White will try to hand UMass their first loss since Feb. 27, when they lost 9-8 to Boston University.
UMass will look to pick up their 11th straight win and improve their No. 11 rank in the country Friday. The team's impressive season has been lead by Sam Rush and Katie Ferris, with 45 and 44 goals respectively. Ferris also has an impressive 21 assists to go along with her 44 goals, totaling 65 points. It has been a team effort for UMass this season, as 10 players have 10 or more points on the season.
Following the match up with UMass, the Bonnies will wrap their season up when they take on LaSalle at home on Sunday (Apr. 21). The game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.
