OPENING DRAW
The St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team looks to bounce back this week after falling last Saturday to Saint Joseph's at home by just one goal. After a week-long break from competition, the Bonnies will travel to match up with George Mason on Saturday at noon in a key Atlantic 10 battle.

LAST TIME OUT
SBU put together a solid fight against the Hawks last Saturday in a back-and-forth thriller, but the visitors were able to sneak away with the victory, 13-12. The Bonnies grabbed an early lead with four quick goals and closed the first quarter with a 5-1 advantage, but Saint Joseph's clawed back and turned the contest into a rollercoaster ride consisting of four lead changes and five ties. Senior captain Brooke Piper tallied four goals and ended the day tied with classmate Rylee Gonzalez (2G-2A) for the Bonnies' leading point total of four.

MAJOR MILESTONE
With her four goals this past Saturday against Saint Joseph's, Piper became just the third player in program history to reach 200 career points. The only other Bonnies to accomplish this feat are Kelly Chevez, '05 (240) and Fiona McGovern, '25 (218). The captain's 200th career point came off an assist from freshman Gracie Williams around the six-minute mark during Bona's fourth quarter push for a tie, marking the hosts' final score of the game.

Piper sits third on the program's all-time points leaderboard and already owns the career goals record (169) which she set earlier this season against Duquesne.

SPREADING THE WEALTH
Bonaventure boasts eight different double-digit point scorers this season, led by Piper (52). She is trailed by Gonzalez (29), Megan Schillinger (27), Sidney Van Tassel (22), Riley Milligan (22), Grace Hollenbeck (15), Williams (15) and Kierstin Hillis (11).

IN THE RANKINGS
The Bonnies are well-represented in both the national and Atlantic 10 statistical ranks this season. Piper's 46 goals are the second-most in the conference and the 11th most in the country to date. She has scored the third-most goals per game (3.29) and 10th-most points per game (3.71) in the conference.

Fellow senior and captain Brit Colangelo boasts the most caused turnovers per game (2.21) in the A-10, a figure which ranks 26th nationally. She has also scooped the fourth-most groundballs per game in the conference (2.5).

Furthermore, Schillinger has controlled an average of four and a half draws per game, ranking fifth in the conference and giving her a total of 63 draws.

ABOUT GEORGE MASON

  • This season, George Mason was selected seventh out of ten in the A-10 Preseason Coaches Poll. The team currently holds a 6-7 overall record with a mark of 2-4 in conference play. Last Saturday, the Patriots dropped a 12-9 decision to George Washington in their only game of the week.
  • Senior midfielder Kate Anders leads the team with 56 points (44G-12A) after starting in every game so far. A fellow midfielder, graduate student Kaitlyn Bestick, follows in second place with 34 points (29G-5A)
  • Senior goalie Regan Bestick has started every game so far this season between the posts and has made 111 saves in that time. She has compiled an individual goalie record of 6-5.

Five current Bonnies recorded points in that contest: Piper (5G-1A), Schillinger (1G-2A), Grace Hollenbeck (2G-1A), Gonzalez (1A) and Riley Devlin (1A).
