PHILADELPHIA, PA. - The St. Bonaventure lacrosse team (5-5, 0-2) struggled on the offensive end for the third straight contest, losing 18-3 at Temple (7-4, 2-0) in a game that the Owls controlled from the start.
Temple tallied its first score just 48 seconds into the game and built a 6-0 lead before the Bonnies found their way onto the scoreboard. Marybeth Madia was the first to register a goal for SBU.
The Owls would then go on a 5-0 run before allowing Erin Thomas her eighth goal of the season. Temple would go on to take a 15-2 advantage into the locker room. St. Bonaventure would be outshot 19-11 in the first frame.
Trailing 16-2, Jenna Schlagenhauf tallied her team leading 26th goal of the season to round out the SBU scoring on the afternoon. Overall the Brown and White would be outshot 27-15 in this one. The St. Bonaventure goalie tandem of Karly Kocis and Sara Schlagenhauf combined to make just three saves.
After starting the season 5-2, outscoring its opponents 82-62, the Bonnies have gone 0-3 and been outscored 54-7 in the previous three games.
St. Bonaventure will be back in action on Sunday when they welcome and opponent (Saint Joseph's) to McGraw-Jennings field for the first time this season. Face off is currently set for noon.
