How It Happened
St. Bonaventure led wire-to-wire to defeat the Rams by eight points tonight at the Ryan Center on the campus of the University of Rhode Island. The Bonnies had a balanced attack with four players finishing with double-digit points, led by Emily Michael and Chelsea Bowker with 14 points each. For Michael, that was a new career-high as she shot 3-3 from the field including 2-2 from behind the arc. Michael's 6-7 from the free throw line was also a career-high for the sophomore guard. Bowker's 14 points were powered by a 4-7 shooting night from three-point land as she would finish the game 5-8 from the field. Katie Healy tallied 13 points, followed by Hannah Little who recorded 10 points and a team-high six boards on the night.
Rhode Island would only tie the score up once tonight, just three minutes into the game as St. Bonaventure kept the Rams at a comfortable distance for much of the game, leading by as much as 13 points in the opening minute of the second half. The Bonnies led by 10 points or more 13 times throughout tonight's contest and would finish the night shooting 20-38 (52.6%) from the field, including 11-16 (68.8%) in the second half. SBU held Rhody to just 19-52 (36.5%) shooting tonight.

Both teams combined for a 13-28 shooting night from behind the arc, with the Bonnies converting on seven triples and the Rams with six.
Tonight marked just the second game this season the Bonnies have had four players scoring double-digits in a single game and also the second time they've shot 80% or better from the charity stripe.
Healy's seven assists tonight were a career-high.
The Bonnies are 6-0 this season when Bowker hits four or more 3-PT field goals.

St. Bonaventure will remain on the road and travel to Richmond to tip-off against the Spiders on Saturday, Jan. 25 at noon. The game will mark the second meeting in a little more than two weeks between the two schools, with the Bonnies coming out on top on Jan. 8 by the score of 55-43 at the Reilly Center.
